Weekend Update- Complete with Power Outage Details :(

What a weekend! We accomplished a LOT. With our official house warming party happening in less than 2 weeks (eek!) we started really digging into things we have to wrap up. So exciting!

Luis and I finished the flooring in our front room (hooray!). That means we only have 1 more room to finish. If you ever need a good back workout, you should come over! Saturday morning was filled with a lot of aches than normal.

Friday night-
A big storm came through and took down our block's power for about 13 hours starting at 9:30 PM. Fortunately, the lights flickered just long enough for me to grab a few candles. You might be thinking- Candles?? Why not a cell phone? While I had my cell phone- 1 very dark house = 1 very scared little girl. It helped to shed some light throughout our casa.

After the lights went out things got HOT. And not sexy hot. No fans or AC meant we were pretty uncomfortable. There was a good breeze so Luci went to bed around 11 PM.

The next morning we bee lined for Luis's Dads house for AC + a good shower. After we drove all the way to Bollingbrook to enoy maybe the coolest kids splash park I've ever seen (self proclaimed splash park expert). After fully exhausting our kiddo we drove back home to a POWERED house but very smelly fridge. told me food can last up to 4 hours if you don't open your fridge. Our power was off for 13... and just opening the door you could definitely smell things were not well. I was so thankful we're on a different schedule and hadn't just purchased all of our food for the week. 2 trash bags full to the dumpster + a $42 trip to Aldi's and things were back to normal. Love Aldis.

Finished painting a counter top in our kitchen. *Post to come including pictures!* Then we did something I've been waiting for 4 months to do. We hung pictures! I couldn't believe the difference some pictures made. It just felt like HOME instead of a construction project.

We still need trim + crown modeling and to finish some drywall and probably a billion other things. But for now... we have pictures on the walls! *sigh of relief* Heart is happy :)

Can't wait to show you pictures of some of the projects we've been wrapping up! This gorgeous tree bloomed this week - looove the purple flowers!

Happy Monday y'all!
